"Building and Sustaining the New Black Economy"

COMMUNITY ASSEMBLY!
(Second Quarter, 2008)

The African Community Center for Unity and Self-Determination/Atlanta is hosting its Second Quarter Community Assembly for all African (Black)
People of Metro Atlanta. The Assembly will take place Saturday, April 12, 2008, 6:00 PM at the Afrikan Djeli Cultural Center , 840 Ralph D.
Abernathy Blvd. in the African Village ( West End ).

The Community Assembly is set every three months as a time to refocus and reenergize as we work collectively to insure the safety and welfare
of our community and people. The theme of this Assembly is: Cooperative Economics - "Building and Sustaining the New Black Economy".

When we consider both the above-ground and the under-ground economies of the Black Community in the U. S. , more than a trillion dollars a
year passes through our collective hand. We must quickly become better stewards of this necessary resource if there's any chance of real
progress for our people globally.

The Community Assembly will feature alternative economic and business models that brothers and sisters are already involved with. Not only
can we learn from these presentations, but we can also join with and support many of these efforts.

*SOME OF THE ECONOMIC AND BUSINESS MODELS TO BE PRESENTED INCLUDE:

-          Alternative fuel production
-          Cooperatives
-          Bartering
-          Distribution Networks
-          Susu
-          Cause Marketing
-          Urban and Rural Agriculture
-          Volunteerism
-          Investment Strategies; local and global
-          Business Incubation

Open Mic: Feedback and announcements from the audience as time permits:

All individuals and organizations concerned about the progress of our community and people are "Called to Assemble". This is a critical time in
our history and we MUST come together to strengthen our Community and people economically, politically and culturally.

Again, our next Community Assembly is set for Saturday, April 12, 2008, 6:00 PM at the
Afrikan Djeli Cultural Center 840 Ralph D. Abernathy Blvd. S.W. Atlanta
