| Self- Determination 101 *To get from one place to another, you must GO (move towards) there: *To become anything, you must first BE (embody to some degree) that: We in the African Centered / Pan-African Nationalist Community can not just talk of and hope for liberation, self-determination and sovereignty for some time in the future, we must be these (what we intend to become) in the NOW and then grow beyond all contradictions. The founding of the African Community Centers for Unity and Self-Determination in 2003 represents a bold step towards self-determination that continues today. Starting in 2004 and each year thereafter, we have participated in the nomination and election of members to our Unity Council to provide critical leadership in our drive to put in place systems and an infrastructure that give us the permanent (intergenerational) capacity to have greater control over what happens to us as a people. You are being asked to participate. Please consider nominating someone for our upcoming Unity Council election. - As a member of the African (Black) Community of Metro Atlanta, you have the right to nominate and to be nominated for Unity Council election. The attached nomination form includes all the instructions you will need. This is your opportunity to help build the unity we so desperately need. The single mission of the African Community Center is to build and maintain a permanent system of unity for all of our people. This must include YOU! NO UNITY, NO POWER |
